Feeling Good

I bought this beautiful book for my home.
I first came across Mark Mabry's photographs of Christ while I was serving a mission. The personal and intimate images of the Savior's ministry stir my heart and help me ponder His life and feel His love.

This last weekend, I listened to the prophets and apostles speak at General Conference. It was wonderful. A peaceful, hopeful calm has penetrated my heart; several of the messages addressed circumstances I am experiencing in life right now. Amazing how Heavenly Father knows my heart and guides me back to the path of true happiness when I stop and refocus on following Him.

From the Book of Mormon:
"[God] looketh down upon all the children of men; and he knows all the thoughts and intents of the heart; for by his hand were they all created from the beginning." ~ Alma 18:32

Another great thing about this weekend: I had an absolutely delightful time with A.H. from Canada. Who wouldn't enjoy an afternoon of conference, Barnes&Noble, dinner at InNOut, crafty projects, and Back to the Future? All with this really, really cute guy. It was a super-date. I had a super-time. I also learned how to use "Eh?" appropriately.

It felt great to be genuinely interested in the person I was out with, even if it was only one night and he lives in another country.....it shed a little glimmer of expectation on my hope to fall for someone again someday.

Another thought...how cool is it that people actually drove Dolorian cars? And did you know?? Michael J. Fox is a Canook! Pretty cool, eh?

Hope you have a great day; here's a promotional peek at the first Mark Mabry project I discovered. Enjoy!

Jimmie doughnuts

I made fresh homemade doughnuts in the office for my team.

I made the dough the night before. Key ingredients: sour cream AND buttermilk. Oh yeah.

I brought my little FryDaddy right into the conference room and soon the warm, delicious smell of fried goodness was wafting through the office.

Did I mention the frosting varieties included not only cinammon-sugar and creamy chocolate, but also a CREAM CHEESE GLAZE? Oohhhh yeah.

"I bet your team adores you," P said to me once.
I bet they do...who could resist these?
