Snowing in Seattle

I spent my first week in Seattle cooped up in my (very nice) hotel room; the office was like a ghost town.

Ironic that the first snow I would see this year wasn't in Utah.

It snowed and snowed in Seattle, the governor declared a state of emergency, and the airport shut down.

I didn't take any pictures, but it was beautiful. My hotel was surrounded by snow-topped pine trees. Lovely.

It warmed up a bit Friday night, they flew me home.

I stepped out into the Utah air....and was welcomed with a toasty, spring wind.

Utah was way to warm for January.

But don't you worry. It started raining that night and snowed throught the following day.

Welcome Winter!

ps. one of my favorite feelings in the world: Waking up to the sound of rain in the unbelievably comfy bed in the corner room upstairs of Nana's house. Running downstairs to the kitchen to grab some toast and then sitting all cozy in front of the fireplace, reading a book. It was a great Saturday morning.
