Elizabeth and I took a road trip to Myrtle Beach (yeah, baby!)
Along the way, we stopped at South of the Border--
"America’s favorite highway oasis & gateway to the southeast"
just South of the North Carolina/South Carolina border.
There were enough plastic aligators, pink flamingos, and dinosaurs wearing sombreros to keep us busy for an hour, just running around the streets, climbing things and taking photos.
The whole town looks like it fell out of a politically incorrect cartoon.
SOB resident Pedro is featured on billboards
cluttered along the sides of the street.
They say things like
"Pedro's weather forecast: chili today...hot tamale!!"
There was a hat shop, so...
...we tried on a few hats.
After enough silliness,
we jumped back in the car and headed on our way!
